Dr. Ben Kim says, “Using a cell phone for six years or more is associated with a fifty percent increase in risk of developing an acousti’c neuroma, a benign tumor of a nerve that lies close to the ear and is within close range of the radiation that comes from a cell phone’s antenna.” He goes on to warn us that “regular use of a cell phone doubles your risk of developing neuro epithelial tumors on the outside of your brain.” Isn’t that exciting? Ha! It’s hard to imagine that such a miniscule residue of invisible power could do so much harm.
I didn’t give you that warning to get you to turn off your cell phones during the service (although that would be nice), but as an introduction to our study today pertaining to an energy force much greater than radiation: the power of the Holy Spirit. And as we will learn today, that energy force is available for us as Christians, not as a destructive force like radiation, but as a power to affect eternal change for good in the lives of people around us.
God teach us today to seek the power you have for us through Jesus Christ,
