There was a certain teacher who was encouraging one of his students to not be a quitter. He said. “Look at Georg e Washington, he never quit. Look at Thomas Edison, he never quit. Look at the Wright brothers, they never quit.” Then he said, “Look at Elmo Jones.” The student then asked, “Who is Elmo Jones?” The teacher responded, “See!! He quit!”
Christianity is certainly not for quitters, but yet all of us have known people along the way who called themselves Christians who have quit the faith and gone back to the world. In our lesson today in Hebrews, we will be exploring the subject of eternal security and in the process try to answer the question, “Can a real Christian quit the faith or do we all persevere to the end?”
