When I was a little boy, my dad took me to see the president of the United States at Goodfellow Air Force Base. I remember it was a sunny day and the glare was so great, I could barely see him as he came off his plane.
In today’s text, we will be looking at one much greater than any president, we will be looking at Jesus, and we will see Him “as the brightness of the Father’s glory; as the creator and sustainer of the universe; and as the express image of God’s person.” That’s why Spurgeon when he preached on this passage told his audience to shade their eyes, “for you cannot look at such a description of Jesus without being dazzled by it!”
May God open and shade our eyes today as we look at our King in His Glory.
