In her great hymn Draw Me Nearer, Fanny Crosby penned the following lyrics: “I long to rise in the arms of faith and be closer drawn to thee; Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord, to the cross where thou hast died; Draw me nearer, nearer blessed Lord to thy precious bleeding side.”
Fanny Crosby was saying in her hymn exactly what the author of Hebrews has been telling us in chapter 10 of his book. The more we are cognizant of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ, the closer we draw near to God, and the closer we draw near to God, the more we are cognizant of the broken body and shed blood of Jesus Christ!
