Galatians 4:8-20 Reviving Stillborn Christians

Sam Levinson once said, “Insanity is hereditary. You can get it from your children.” Paul certainly must have felt that way about his spiritual children in Galatia. They were driving him nuts. At one point, he thought they were born again, but after just a few years, they were showing signs that they were lifeless and possibly even “stillborn.” In other words, he was sensing that they had never truly been born again. But Paul wasn’t ready to give up on them. On the contrary, he said that he was ready “to labor in birth again until Christ was truly formed in them.”

Too often we are ready to give up when someone we thought we had led to the Lord seems to in reality to have been “stillborn.” But like Paul, we are not to give up. Instead, we are to labor again in prayer and in their discipleship until we are sure that they are truly born again!
