1 Corinthians 12:10a – An Extremely Outstanding Extraordinary Event

An alcoholic, who became a believer, was asked how he could possibly believe all the nonsense in the Bible about miracles. “You don’t believe that Jesus changed the water into wine do you?” “I sure do, because in our house Jesus changed the whiskey into furniture.” (R. Stedman, Authentic Christianity, p.36)
That little anecdote illustrates the nature of many contemporary miracles. They might not appear on the surface to be that spectacular, but in the end they fit the definition of a miracle in that they are “extremely outstanding extraordinary events.” Today in
our study on the “gift of working miracles” we will be reminded that if we are alert and looking for divine intervention, we will have no problem seeing the supernatural works of God.
May God open our hearts and minds to see Him at work in our lives,
George
