In our world today, there is a strong movement to separate everything secular from everything religious. Many people who call themselves Christians tend to do the same thing. I hear Christians all the time say things like “I have a secular job,” or “I make time for the things that are spiritual.” From statements such as these, you can surmise that many Christians have divided their time between doing secular things and doing spiritual things.
We will learn today that once we are born again and called by God, nothing we do from that point on should be deemed to be secular. Everything we do, we do in His presence, and hopefully for His glory. That’s why Paul says in Col 3:17 “Whatever you do in word or deed, do all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through Him.” “Whatever” means “whatever” in the Greek. That means that nothing we do is to be considered secular; not our relationships, not our jobs, not our recreation. NOTHING FOR US IS TO EVER BE SECULAR AGAIN!!!!!
May God bless our study in John today,
