The title of today’s message is “Quit Work Now!” It almost sounds like an admonition from cultists like Jim Jones who invited people to quit work and join up with him in some far removed place to drink strange kool-aid. But the admonition to quit work has nothing to do with our physical labors and everything to do with our spiritual works.
The author of Hebrews will say to us in 4:10 that “he who has entered His rest has himself ceased from his own works as God did from His.” In other words, if God rested in the work of the cross, who are we not to!
