Acts 8:1-13 – Joy in the City

Acts 8:1-13 – Joy in the City

When William Wilberforce, the great English abolitionist, contemplated the spiritual climate of his day, he did not give up on his homeland.  He wrote, “My own solid hopes for the well-being of my country depend, not so much on her navies or armies, nor on the wisdom of her rulers, nor on the spirit of her people, as on the persuasion that she still contains many who love and obey the gospel of Christ. I believe that their prayers may yet prevail.”

A few years later, the country he loved so dearly experienced one of the greatest revivals ever, one that saw hundreds of thousands saved. The revival led to a reawakening of the moral conscience of England and to an end of slavery as well.

The title of the message today is “Joy in the City.” To see joy in our cities today, we need revival.

May our prayers prevail, and may the Lord send revival soon!!!!
