When we think of the saints we think of the New Orleans Saints or the great saints of old like Saint Peter and Saint Augustine. The Mormons even refer to themselves as the Church of the Latter Day Saints. But did you know that the real saints are not a football team, or super Christians from history, or Mormons, but are instead those of us who have been born again and have been sanctified by the Spirit of God?
In today’s lesson, Paul will refer to “all the churches of the saints.” By the term “churches of the saints,” he means the churches where many true born again believers abide. One of the indicators that a church is “a church of the saints” is that there are members of that church who are gifted by the Holy Spirit, and they exercise those gifts decently and in order.
Lord please help us here at Calvary Chapel of Lafayette to be known also as “a church of the saints,”
