During my years of ministry, I have gone to visit several people who were in the hospital on life support, and I have to tell you, it is not a pretty sight. As I went into the patient’s room, I would see them hooked up to all sorts of tubes and machines that kept them breathing and their heart beating. But inevitably in every case the patient died before he or she made it out of the hospital.
Today we will look at the church at Sardis, and you could call them “The Church on Life Support,” because they were all but dead. There are a lot of churches in that condition today, but Jesus will show us today exactly how such a church or believer can beat the odds and be revived and made full of life.
