Someone once said, “It is remarkable how much you have to know, before you know how little you know.” That statement is true of Apollos, one of the main characters in our text today. The Word tells us that “he was mighty in the Scriptures” and that “he spoke and taught accurately the things of the Lord (Jesus).” And yet “he only knew the baptism of John.” That meant he knew about the need for repentance from sin but not about the new life we have in Jesus Christ. He knew a lot, and yet he knew so little. But as we will see in today’s lesson, things will turn out wonderfully for Apollos as Priscilla and Aquilla take him aside and set him straight on the Gospel of Jesus Christ.
May God enrich our knowledge in Him through today’s lesson in Acts,
