In our study today, Paul will persuade the new believers in Antioch “to continue in the grace of God.” What did he mean by “continue in the grace of God?” He meant what he would later say in Colossians 2:6, “As you received Christ Jesus the Lord so walk in Him.” In other words, you have received Him by grace, and you are to walk in Him by grace; you are “to continue in the grace of God.”
Too many of us live bitter and defeated lives because we fail to grasp this great principle. We try to continue in law instead of grace. C.H. Spurgeon, in his book All of Grace, rightly said that our attempts to live for God “based upon our own works brings self-righteousness and a coldness of heart. It is the free grace and mercy of God that makes the heart glow with warmth and thankfulness for God’s love.” And so to have a joyful and victorious Christian life we are to continue in God’s grace both now and forever!!!!!
May God richly bless our study today in Acts 13,
