Today we will learn about how Jesus Christ is our pattern for giving. He didn’t give 5% of what He had, or even 10% of what He had. He gave all He had for the Kingdom of God. Sad to say, but most of us are content with giving the Lord the leftovers of our life-as depicted in the little poem below:
Leftovers are such humble things,
We would not serve to a guest,
And yet we serve them to our Lord
Who deserves the very best.
We give to Him leftover time,
Stray minutes here and there.
Leftover cash we give to Him,
Such few coins as we can spare.
We give our youth unto the world,
To hatred, lust and strife;
Then in declining years we give
To Him the remnant of our life.
May God give us the heart to follow His lead in our giving to His Kingdom work,
George
