If an airline company was to give you the privilege of flying anywhere you wanted to, anytime you wanted to, that would be great, wouldn’t it? But if they didn’t provide the plane with gas, you wouldn’t go anywhere. The workings of flying a plane are not nearly as complicated as the supernatural power it takes to save a soul.
Paul will tell us in today’s lesson that the Gospel is veiled to those who are perishing because the god of this age (the devil) has blinded their minds to the truth. So even though we’ve been entrusted with the ministry of the New Covenant, we are not going to get anywhere with the Gospel without the supernatural power of Christ.
