2 Corinthians 11:16-33 – The Ministry is Not for Wimps

Union General W.T. Sherman defined courage “to be a perfect sensibility of the measure of danger, and a mental willingness to endure it.” As we will learn in today’s lesson, the apostle Paul in the fulfillment of his ministry perfectly fit that definition of courage. He knowingly faced danger at every turn in his missionary work, and yet he had the strength and willingness to endure it.

In Paul’s defense of his apostleship in 2 Corinthians 11, we will see very clearly that the ministry is not for wimps, but for the courageous-those who willingly endure great trials and suffering. But as we have learned in past studies, the courage and strength for our ministry comes from the Lord, and the rewards for enduring are great!
