In our lesson today, we will learn that there were those in Corinth who were coming against Paul on the basis that he was not nearly as impressive of a speaker as he was a writer. But Paul answered that charge by stating that “it is the Lord who commends us.” In other words, we don’t find our worth in ministry based upon what we think of ourselves or what others think of us, but from the approval of the Lord.
George Whitefield once answered his critics by saying, “Others may preach the Gospel better than I can, but no one can preach a better Gospel.” Both Paul and Whitefield operated faithfully in the sphere of ministry God had given them and were commended by the Lord. All God has called any of us to do is to be faithful to His work within the boundaries in which He has placed us!
May God teach us about our sphere of ministry in today’s study,
