1 Samuel 15:15-35 – My Master and Commander

1 Samuel 15:15-35 – My Master and Commander

Dr. B.J. Miller once wrote, “It is a great deal easier to do that which God gives us to do, no matter how hard it is, than to face the responsibilities of not doing it.” (Today in the Word, November, 1989, p. 11).

In today’s text, Saul is going to find out the hard way about the cost of disobedience to the Lord’s commands. His partial obedience to the word of the LORD will cost him his kingdom. Not only that, it will eventually cost him his life.

We all need to decide once and for all that the LORD is our Master and Commander. We need to commit ourselves to absolute obedience to Him, because it is always easier to do that which God gives us to do than to not do it.
