We have been studying recently Paul’s reminder to us that we as born again believers have become the temple of the living God. Someone sent me an email this past week containing the following exhortation that ponders the significance of this great truth:
Did you ever give much thought to Mary’s honor of bearing God’s Son in her body? In a sense, isn’t that the privilege we have when we believe God’s message, and are born again, and the Spirit of God comes to live in us? We have the honor of bearing God’s Son in our bodies-which have become His temple (1Corinthians 3:17, 6:19) How blessed we believers are to be indwelt by the Son
of God through the power of the Holy Spirit. Christ-the long awaited Messiah, the Promised One, is in us! “Christ in us our hope of glory!” (Colossians 1:27) He whom Mary bore, I now bear. Think of it! My body has become the temple of the living God! Mary was blessed among all women, and I am blessed among all the people of the world”? (Author unknown)
What a wonderful privilege we have to bear the Son of God in our hearts. But as we are
learning in our Bible study, with great privilege comes great responsibility.
May God give us an ever-present sense of His presence,
