1 Corinthians 12:10d-13 – Made to Drink

1 Corinthians 12:10d-13 – Made to Drink

Andrew Murray once wrote, “May not a single moment of my life be spent outside the light, love and joy of God’s presence and not a moment without the entire surrender of my self as a vessel for Him to fill full of His Spirit and His love.” It’s clear from those words that Murray understood that as a Christian, he was “made to drink” of the Spirit of God. He also understood that he could not be guzzling the things of the world and at the same time be drinking full of God’s Spirit.
Paul will tell us in today’s text that all of us who have been baptized into the body of Christ have been “made to drink of the one Spirit.” To be empowered and gifted by God and to quench that deep inward thirst, we must forsake the wells of this world and come
to Christ and drink.
May God lead us today to the well of His Spirit,
George
