In 1867, President Andrew Johnson signed a deal with Russia to purchase the 585,000 square miles of Alaska for only $7.2 million. Some have called it the greatest deal ever made. But it’s not. Actually, Abraham was the beneficiary of the greatest deal ever made. Because he received all the great promises of God–the whole land of Israel, a great name, along with eternal life- for nothing. All he had to do was to agree to be the beneficiary of the deal and believe the promises of God. What a deal!!! But believe it or not, we can get in on his deal too. We’ll see just how as we study chapter 17 of Genesis today.
