Genesis 27:30-46 – Sucking this World Like an Orange

Genesis 27:30-46 – Sucking this World Like an Orange

Samuel Butler once wrote these lines about the worldly man:

For truth is precious and divine;
Too rich a pearl for carnal swine.

Esau was a man who had little or no regard for the truth of the Lord. All he cared about were the things of this world, and today as we finish our study on chapter 27 of Genesis, we are going to see the cost Esau paid for his carnality. Here was this man who “sucked this world like an orange,” without any regard for the word of the Lord, and so his oranges eventually turned to lemons, and his life became very sour and bitter.
