Acts 25 – The Makings of a Masterpiece

Acts 25 – The Makings of a Masterpiece

In Chapter 23 of Acts, Jesus told Paul that he would bear witness of Him in Rome. And we will see Paul make it to Rome in just a few chapters. But he won’t make it there on a cruise ship. He will be forced to go there in chains. But the forces that are seemingly trying to harm him will be the very forces God uses to get him to Rome.

Paul’s journey to Rome provides for us some great lessons on the sovereignty and providence of God. Someone once said, “To say that God is sovereign is simply to say that God is God.” That means that He does as He pleases, how He pleases, when He pleases, and nothing or no one can stand in His way. Also, His ways are not our ways and His thoughts are not our thoughts. And so what often seem to human eyes to be a haphazard set of circumstances are actually the acts of a sovereign God working out His providential plan.

May God bless our study today in Acts 25,
