1 Peter 5:5-14 – Keeping a Fresh Perspective of God

1 Peter 5:5-14 – Keeping a Fresh Perspective of God

In his book God Can Make it Happen, Russ Johnston talks about getting the right perspective. He wrote, “When Goliath came against the Israelites, they thought ‘We can never kill him, he’s too big.’ But David looked at the Giant and thought, “He’s so big, I can’t miss!’” But we know that David didn’t just win the victory because he had the right perspective of his situation, he had the right respective of God. He knew that God was on his side and that He would empower him to victory.

Peter is going to encourage us in today’s text to keep the right perspective of God as we face the various trials of life. We can only be victorious over our giants-the devil, the flesh, and the world – when by faith we see God for who He is – our loving and caring Father who is more than able to empower us to victory!
