Back in 1980, Chuck Smith, the founder of the Calvary Chapel wrote: “From my understanding of biblical prophecies, I’m convinced that the Lord is coming for his church before 1981. I could be wrong, but it’s a deep conviction in my heart, and all my plans are predicated on that belief.”
Obviously, Chuck Smith was wrong. The rapture didn’t take place in 1981. But he was not wrong in his observation of the season in which he lived. He lived in the very last days before the return of Christ, just as you and I do. No doubt, soon the apocalyptic clock will strike midnight and Jesus will return to rule on this earth. That’s what makes a study of the Book of Revelation so exciting for us. We can’t set a date, but it is highly possible that the events described in this book will take place in our lifetime!!!
