Genesis 3:6-13 – A Sad, Sad Day

Genesis 3:6-13 – A Sad, Sad Day

Twitter has what they call a “hedonometer,” and one of the things it can do is to measure the sadness of its subscribers. And October 2, 2017, the day of the mass shooting in Las Vegas, according to that “hedonometer,” was the saddest day Twitter has ever measured. But if Twitter had been around some 6,000 years ago it might very well have determined that the day Adam and Eve fell in the Garden of Eden was actually much sadder, because even the actions of the Las Vegas shooter were rooted in their rebellion.

Today we will examine their fall and see that indeed it was “a sad, sad day.” But there was an even sadder day that took place 4,000 years later, and we will briefly look at that day also as we continue our study of the fall of mankind as it is recorded for us in Genesis 3.
