Genesis 33 – Identity Crisis

Genesis 33 – Identity Crisis

The celebrated German philosopher Schleiermacher was once sitting alone on a park bench, and a policeman thinking he was a vagrant approached him and asked him, “Who are you?” Schleirermacher answered sadly, “I wish I knew.” No doubt the famous philosopher was suffering from what is known as an “identity crisis.”

In today’s lesson, we will learn about the “identity crisis” that the great patriarch Jacob experienced in his life, especially after he become Israel. It’s a crisis all of us as Christians can relate to. That’s why there is so much wisdom to glean from taking a close look at the life of Jacob and how he handled his role as a child of God living in an ungodly world
