1 John 2:18-27 – Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf?

1 John 2:18-27 – Who’s Afraid of the Big, Bad Wolf?

Most of you have heard the song from Disney’s 1933 cartoon The Three Little Pigs as the pigs sang, “Who’s afraid of the big, bad wolf, the big bad wolf.” Of course, we don’t have to worry about a fictional character like the big, bad wolf, but there are some “big, bad boogie men” in the Bible that we do need to be weary of. There’s the devil, his demons, the antichrist, and as John will tell us in today’s text, all sorts of antichrists. But just as the three little pigs sang confidently, “Who’s afraid of the big bad wolf?” we can sing “Who’s afraid of the boogie men?” and the reason being is that we have an anointing and that anointing is the very Spirit of God in us, and if God be for us, who can be against us!
