Acts 17:15-34 – Provoked Within

Acts 17:15-34 – Provoked Within

The great Roman philosopher Cicero once said, “There is nothing so absurd that some philosopher has not already said it.” It is true that much of what we call philosophy or human wisdom is nothing short of absurdity.

In today’s lesson, Paul will arrive in the city of Athens, and he will encounter plenty of not only absurd philosophical thought, but religious thought as well. And he will be “provoked within” by what he hears and sees. How he responds to that sensation provides for us great lessons for witnessing in a very religious and philosophical culture.

May God teach us today through His Word,

George
