Hebrews 8:1-13 – Get Rid of that Obsolete Doohickey

The following laws are still on the books in these places:
-In Kansas there is a law that states that you cannot eat snakes in public.
-In Los Angeles you cannot give two babies a bath at the same time in the same bathtub.
-In Corvallis, Oregon, it is illegal for young ladies to drink coffee after six in the evening.
-There is a law in Colorado that forbids anyone from fishing off the 1053 ft. Royal Gorge Bridge. (As if you could.)

Obviously, these laws are either unnecessary or obsolete. In today’s text, the author of Hebrews is going to make the case that the laws of the Old Covenant have become obsolete, because the Old Covenant has been totally replaced by the New. And under the New Covenant we are not under law, but under grace.
