Blaise Pascal once wrote, “He that takes truth for his guide, and duty for his end, may safely trust God’s providence to lead him aright.” Abraham no doubt trusted God’s providence “to lead him aright” when he sent his servant Eliezer off to find Isaac a bride. And as we will see in today’s study in chapter 24 of Genesis, Abraham’s trust was well-founded, for the Lord by a miracle of providence led Eliezer to the bride He had chosen for Isaac before the foundation of the world!
